Nike's second-gen self-lacing shoes drop February 16 for $400

By Anthony Garreffa | Jan 22, 2020 10:43 pm CST

Nike's original self-lacing shoes gave Back to the Future fans as close to what they wanted: self-lacing shoes that Marty McFly had in 2015, with the original Adapt BB shoes dropping in January 2019.

But now Nike is preparing the next-gen self-lacing Adapt BB 2.0 shoes, designed by Ben Nethongkome. The new shoes feature fore-foot Zoom, compared to the Cushion used in the original Adapt BB shoes. The midsole stack height has been re-jigged for improved heel-to-toe movement, too.

You can see from the above photos that the design of the Nike Adapt BB 2.0 shoes is been improved, and they look awesome. The shoe is also even easier to put on, with early adopters of the original Adapt BB shoes saying that while they were awesome (come on, self-lacing shoes) they were annoying to put on.

PUMA engineer $105 'Active Gaming Footwear' socks with multiple modes

By Jak Connor | Dec 19, 2019 12:31 am CST

PUMA has announced that it is stepping into the gaming market, but they aren't making games. Instead, they are making footwear for gamers.

In a new video that was released onto the PUMA Group YouTube Channel, PUMA has announced what is called 'Active Gaming Footwear'. According to the video, PUMA has been in "extensive talks with professional gamers" and has since discovered there is a need for a "sock-like shoe".

This new design of sock/shoe is super lightweight and is designed for "indoor and in-arena use". It also comes with "seamless comfort, support and grip so gamers can adapt to different active gaming modes and game their best." Not only does it come with comfort as any sock/shoe should, but it also comes with different modes. According to the official PUMA website, the Active Gaming Footwear has three modes. I have listed them in the entirety of this article. The Active Gaming Footwear comes in at $105 USD.

Take Alexa wherever you want with Amazon's 'Echo Loop' smart-ring

By Jak Connor | Sep 26, 2019 08:10 am CDT

Amazon have announced their first iteration of smart-jewelry, coming in the form of rings that allow users to take Alex anywhere.

Introducing Amazon's Alex-powered smart-ring wearable, The Echo Loop. From the above image, you can see that The Echo Loop is a thick-banded black ring. Its made out of titanium and has a tiny button located in the middle of the ring if you look close enough. According to Engadget who got to go hands-on with the new wearable, the Echo Loop requires users to press the small button to activate Alexa, and then users must raise their hand to the small microphone on the ring so the command can be heard.

Engadget's Nicole Lee said she felt like she was in a "goofy spy movie" as she would have to raise her had to her mouth to speak into the ring and then to her ear to hear the response. Lee also mentions that Echo Ring vibrates a little when Alexa is listening and whenever the user gets notifications. It is also detailed that the ring comes in four size variants; small, medium, large and extra large. Battery life isn't so good for the time being as Amazon says the ring will last about a single day before it needs charging. The Echo Loop retails for $130, for more information check out this link here.

2 billion glass spheres lasered into this jacket reflects every color

By Jak Connor | Aug 20, 2019 05:09 am CDT

Firstly, because why not right? Why wouldn't you want a jacket that reflects every color in the visible spectrum? I mean, if you want to stand out a party, here if your next purchase.

Vollebak has used lasers to embed over 2 billion microscopic glass spheres onto the surface of their Vollebak black squid jacket. The design idea behind the jacket is to replicate the elements of a squid's biological survival necessities across three layers of fabric. Vollebak co-founder, Steve Tidball spoke out about the design, saying "The black squid jacket focuses on replicating the elements of squid skin that make it hyper-visible. With over two billion of them [glass spheres] embedded in resin on the jacket's surface, and over 40,000 in every single square centimeter, they're invisible to the naked eye."

He continues and says "When light hits the jacket, it travels through the curved surface of these black glass spheres and strikes the back of them, before being reflected back at the original light source and scattered away from it simultaneously, so that the fabric looks like it's emitting light." The jacket is currently priced at $995 and is available in only one color (I wonder why).

Nike's self-lacing shoes are being BRICKED by Android update

By Anthony Garreffa | Feb 20, 2019 09:31 pm CST

We've all wanted to wear the self-lacing shoes that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future II, and now that Nike has launched their awesome Adapt BB kicks, there are some niggly issues.

Now that Nike's new Adapt BB sneakers are in the wild, owners are complaining that their shoes are being bricked when being updated over the Android app. There are reports on the Google Play Store with reviews stating that the shoes "stop working after the update". You can obviously still wear them, but the self-lacing part of the Nike Adapt BB sneakers is a big, well, the entire part of the shoes I guess.

I'd be pretty bloody pissed off if I plonked down $350 on a pair of self-lacing shoes that turned out to be duds post-update, and even more so as it seems to be affecting Android users with iPhone owners reporting they have no issues updating the Nike Adapt BB shoes. If you update the shoes through the iPhone and then pair them afterwards on your Android smartphone, you should be alright - but you shouldn't need to do that.

Nike to start selling its PlayStation shoes on December 1

By Anthony Garreffa | Nov 22, 2018 09:55 pm CST

If you need a new pair of shoes or you're a shoe collector of some sort, you might want to check out the PlayStation-themed shoes that Sony and Nike have worked together on.

The new PG 2.5 X PlayStation shoes are themed exactly like the original PlayStation console, right down to the original gray color and PS logo on the tongue of the left shoe. They look slick as hell, and I'm sure that if you purchased them you wouldn't even want to put them on.

The design of the new PlayStation kicks saw the creators being influenced by the old school PlayStation, with the tongues of the shoes rocking the PG and PlayStation logos that light up. The strap across the top front of each shoe provides stability that keeps your feet locked into the shoes, while the iconic PlayStation symbols are embossed in patent leather on both shoes.

You can now order pizza from your new Pizza Hut SNEAKERS!

By Anthony Garreffa | Mar 5, 2018 09:27 pm CST

I didn't think there would be a day where I would be reporting on news that there are Pizza Hut branded sneakers, for one - because what the hell. But secondly, these new shoes even let you order pizza. I don't even.

Pizza Hut has unveiled their new Pie Tops II, a new pair of Pizza Hut themed high tops that have Bluetooth technology that is enabled by pressing a button on the tongue of the right sneaker. Pizza Hut is the "official pizza" of March Madness, as the pizza giant recently took over from Papa John's as the official pizza of the NFL.

Pizza Hut will be partnering with where they will sell 50 pairs of their new Pie Tops II shoes between March 12-19, with another 50 pairs being given away on social media, and the final batch will be raffled off during the Final Four Fan Fest in San Antonio.
