Bio-engineered race of 'Nazi cows' turn on British farmer, are killed

By: Ben Gourlay | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Jan 7, 2015 12:06 am

We all know that Hitler had designs of a blonde haired and blue eyed 'Aryan race', but he also had a vision of recreating extinct beasts of burden which were to be released in the wild for hunting by the deadliest warriors of the super race. Whilst history might changed his master plans, not only was this endeavor successful, but its descendants have been causing a headache for one British farmer and his staff who have endured their wrath.

According to The Independent, Derek Gow, the only British farmer to keep the animals, has culled seven of the herd because of their overtly aggressive tendencies and repeated attempts to murder him and his staff.

In the 1920's, Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler commissioned German zoologists Heinz and Lutz Heck to produce a breed of cattle based on aurochs, a extinct species of wild bull known for their commanding stature and deadly horns. Whilst the cattle were mostly destroyed after the conclusion of the war in 1945, some survived in European nature conservation parks. Initially, Farmer Gow tried to find new owners for his bovine beasts, but no one wanted to take them.

The owner of Grumpy Cat has made $100 million since 2012

By: Anthony Garreffa | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Dec 9, 2014 8:31 am

We've all seen those Grumpy Cat memes online, but did you know that it's the world's most successful pet? If not, you probably didn't know that Tardar Sauce, otherwise known as Grumpy Cat, has made its owner over $100 million since 2012.

Tabatha Bundesen and her Arizona family have made quite the paycheck from the cat, with her debut YouTube video hitting Google's video sharing site back in 2012. It was an instant hit, where it is now home to over 16 million views and over 20,000 comments. Grumpy Cat was secured by companies pretty quickly, with Tardar Sauce being featured in numerous endorsements and eventually the face of Friskies cat food.

Chronicle Books even published "Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book" in 2013, which reached the #7 spot on the New York Times Best Seller List. Yeah, that happened. There was also the The Grumpy Cat 2014 Wall Calendar and The Grumpy Guide to Life and let's not forget its own brand of iced coffee, aptly named the Grumppuccino. That's not all though, as Lifetime announced in June that it was producing a movie about Grumpy Cat, called Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever, which was shown on November 29, 2014.

Do you remember that amazing production quality 1999 Holden Barina advertisement from around 5 months ago? It was developed by David Johns and his Chimney crew as a way to drum up interest in his company and quite possibly sell his car.

Well, the Barina has starred again! This time it's the main 'character' in 'Barinageddon', seeing it pitted against some scientists wishing to use it as a test subject in their crazy experiments all sponsored by local company, NRMA Insurance.

Vladimir Putin releases Siberian Tiger into wild, mauls goats in China

By: Ben Gourlay | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Nov 26, 2014 12:50 am

There's undoubtedly a personality cult around Russian President Vladimir Putin, which regularly throws up weird and wonderful news stories, but today's takes the cake. It seems that in June, Mr Putin, a would-be conservationist with a passion for large cats, released three Siberian Tigers into the wild. The tigers have been tracked and are reportedly to blame for a spate of goat murders in China.

According to China's Xinhua news agency and reported by Retuers, one of the three tigers, named Ustin, has beeen blamed for the death of two goats, with a further three goats still missing. According to Xinhua, the two dead goat skulls had been brutally crushed, with visible puncture holes "the size of a human finger".

Putin, under fire by the international community for his country's alleged actions which led to the horrific downing of civilian aircraft MH-17 has but a few international allies, but by far it's largest and most important is China. It remains to be seen if these goat murders will change the dynamic.

Dead husband's ashes taken into T-Mobile after contract dispute

By: Anthony Garreffa | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Nov 17, 2014 8:21 am

Maria Raybould's husband passed away from cancer not too long ago, but shortly after, T-Mobile ordered her to pay a cancellation fee on her husband's mobile phone contact.

Raybould even took in her dead husband's ashes into her local T-Mobile store, as well as the death certificate, and funeral bills, all of which the company refused to acknowledge. The widow continued to receive threatening letters from bailiffs, and when she confronted T-Mobile staff, she suffered a panic attack.

She said: "I've been up to the shop with the death certificate, with a letter from the crematorium, the funeral bills - even his ashes. I took in everything I could. I lost it in the shop. I gave them 20 minutes to sort it out. I went outside and had a panic attack. When I went back in the girl told me she had spoken to the manager and they were going to stop the contract. Then I had another letter about the bailiffs". Raybould said that the day after her husband died, she had her son contact T-Mobile about cancelling the contract, but the company said they needed to see the death certificate.

Filmmaker to be 'Eaten Alive' by an Anaconda for Discovery Channel

By: Ben Gourlay | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Nov 5, 2014 5:42 am

Do you recall that awful 1996 movie 'Anaconda' starring a pre J-Lo Jennifer Lopez and a post career Ice Cube? Well, at least one documentary maker probably does and looks to finally answer the question that we all haven't been wondering: What would it feel like to be eaten by a giant Anaconda? And he's making it into a documentary.

According to this article and a brief post on the Discovery Channel website, documentarian Paul Rosolie and Discovery Channel will next month launch a 60 minute documentary called 'Eaten Alive' which will detail Rosolies creation of a 'custom-made snake-proof suit' before being devoured whole and presumably regurgitated.

A somewhat curious addition to the Discover Channel line-up to be sure. I guess the old adage "Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should" applies here.

Tim Cook comes out of closet, Russian statue is dismantled

By: Michael Hatamoto | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Nov 3, 2014 6:18 pm

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently penned an open letter and publicly came out of the closet, saying he is "proud to be gay" - but that doesn't matter to the Russians. A six-foot high statue featuring former CEO Steve Jobs was dismantled in St. Petersburg, Russia, following Cook's announcement.

"In Russia, gay propaganda and other sexual perversions among minors are prohibited by law," as the statue, erected by the ZEFS Russian companies, was "in an area of direct access for young students and scholars. After Apple CEO Tim Cook publicly called for sodomy, the monument was taken down to abide to the Russian federal law protecting children from information promoting denial of traditional family values."

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been heavily criticized for an apparent anti-gay stance, though he said the laws are designed to protect young children, while members of the gay community said it interferes with their lives.

Bizarre two-headed dolphin washes up on Turkish beach

By: Shane McGlaun | More News: Humor & WTF | Posted: Aug 12, 2014 1:02 pm

Conjoined twins aren't exactly common in humans, but it's not something most of us have never seen or heard of. In the animal world, particularly when talking about aquatic creatures, conjoined twins are rare indeed. If a conjoined twin is born in the animal world presumably it's unable to function and dies quickly.

It's unclear exactly how long the bizarre looking conjoined dolphin lived, but estimates are that the animal was about 12 months old and it was 3.2 feet long. The dolphin washed up on a beach in Turkey and one of the creature's eyes was not fully formed according to the man who found the corpse.

The deceased dolphin will be studied by a marine biologist names Mehmet Gokoglu from Akdeniz University. The scientist says that a conjoined dolphin is very rare.
